How to fill a room
There was once an old man who wanted to leave all his fortune to one of his three sons, but he didn’t know which of them deserved it. So, he gave the same amount of money to all three and told them to buy something that would fill a room. The first son bought hay but it wasn’t enough to fill the room. The second bought wood, but still not enough to please the father. The third son bought two things and so inherited his father’s fortune. What did he buy?
Your answers need a logical explanation (you need to mention the way in which the third son used the 2 things he bought in order to please his father). Answers provided without an explanation are not valid.
Logic: White and blue paper sheets
There are six paper sheets spread on a table; three of them are numbered 1,2 and 3 – are white; the other three 4,5 and 6 – are light blue. There is a text written on each of the sheets, as follows:
On the white papers:
1. “There is only one white paper after me.”
2. ” The next two sheets are differently colored.”
3. “I am not the last paper.”
On the light blue papers:
4. “The next two papers are white.”
5. “The first paper is the same color as this one.”
6. “The previous paper and the next one are identically colored.”
You need to order all the papers so that the sentences written on them are true.
